Yucky Yum

According to my good old friend Wikipedia, “The Raclette cheese round is heated, either in front of a fire or by a special machine, then scraped onto diners’ plates; the term raclette derives from the French word racler, meaning “to scrape,” a reference to the fact that the melted cheese must be scraped from the unmelted part of the cheese onto the plate.”

Oh France, you’re too good to me.

Imagine a magical land where you can have all the (good) wine you could ever want, for free. This weekend I went there. Called, “Salon des vins des vignerons indépendants,” and located a tram stop away from my house, we were in heaven for about three hours.

Christmas Eve: Brunch, Feast, Dessert. Christmas was chinese (stir-fry), obviously. True Americans, even if we are in Germany this year.

Milk and Cookies! Chocolate chip oatmeal (with speculoos, because speculoos) and olive-oil almond cookies. 

Hot Chocolate made right… and a little wrong… ! Melted down chocolate and mixed with milk and baileys…. but might have accidentally bought chocolate with the little crispies in it and had to strain it out!

God… remember cooking for yourself? 

Dinner party with sautéed broccoli, stuffed peppers, a LOT of bread and cheese, brownies, christmas drinks, music, and movies.

Speculoos spread. It’s a dangerous thing. (And currently hidden in our cleaning supply closet… not that that’s helped, but it’s a nice idea, right?)
